Pacific Printing Industries | 2018
PPI is a non-profit organization focusing on promoting companies and individuals in the print and graphics industry. I worked for their ExploreVizcomm branch, which reaches out primarily to high school and college students who might be interested in joining the industry - yay! My design work included a completely hand-drawn Scout Book detailing various careers in the industry, business cards, posters, and a brand guideline.
Sock It To Me | 2018
Working as a freelance designer for Sock It To Me has been a dream come true; what could be better than drawing unicorns and sasquatch for a living? Besides being able to exercise my illustration skills, I also worked on product mockups, pattern designs, color schemes, file management, and prepping files for production. Some of the socks I helped create will be available in 2019!
Artslandia Magazine | Summer 2016
I was provided with body copy and photography for layout design. I had opportunities for creative typography in the headlines and was introduced to some file management (keeping years of magazine issues organized is no small feat). For each page that I designed, I kept within the given brand guidelines to create a cohesive look and feel throughout the magazine. In the Kids Annual, I had the pleasure of drawing my own illustrations and combining them into a layout! All in all, it was an amazing experience that I wouldn't trade for nothin'.
Pattern People | Summer 2015
The kind of work I focused on during my time interning with Pattern People is in the name: I made fabulous patterns all summer long! There were also lessons in file organization as I assimilated to the Pattern People protocol. My photography and illustration skills got put to the test as I transferred them to pattern making.
Associated Students of Portland Community College (ASPCC) | Summer 2014
There wasn't much that I didn't dabble in during my time with the PCC student government! I was designing posters, business cards, forms, brochures, and patterns. All the while, gaining loads of experience with file organization, writing copy, photography, illustration, and typography.
